I work internationally providing expert coaching for leadership, self-development, behavior change, performance, and managing transition. I have considerable experience coaching individual leaders up through C-Suite executives, and a sub-specialty with physicians.
Coaching is about partnership. I join with clients as an ally in gaining insight and parlaying new awareness into action. We clarify issues, internal and external. I support ongoing self-reflection which may be the single most important effort that helps forward movement. Our work identifies opportunities for change and skill growth which fosters leadership impact. Personal satisfaction and stress reduction is generally a result of our work.
In any leadership position, it can be difficult to feel safe opening up about conflicts, perceived or real weakness, personal issues, and much more. That’s where I come in. I am a collaborative partner, working to be a wise listener, offering well-delivered, straightforward feedback without judgment. I serve as a confidante, a witness, and an accountability partner.
Clients tell me that they feel deeply understood. They say I consistently find constructive suggestions for and positive angles hidden in their challenges, and, from working together, they feel clearer and stronger.
Cultivating Emotional Intelligence (EQ), the ability to know what’s going on inside oneself as well as having a sense of what’s going on inside the other person, is key to happiness and success. This skillset fosters strength, decreases emotional reactivity, thus lowers stress, and supports the development of intended consequences.
I’ve been a Master Certified Coach since 2005, the highest designation awarded by the International Coach Federation, the organizing body for coaches worldwide. I began my career as a psychotherapist with a PhD in Clinical Psychology. These two vocations—coaching and psychotherapy—provide me with a powerful complementary skill-set.
While helping is in my bones, it’s still an art. I use my psychology training as I listen, support, and invite curiosity in coaching. Our focus will be on what we can learn.
